A December 2003 Gallup poll asked Americans how they would rate the honesty and ethical standards of people in different professions:

Registered nurses rated number one at 83% for the fourth out of five surveys (only second to firefighters in fall, 2001) -- ahead of pharmacists (67%), medical doctors (68%), and dentists (61%)
